Your information stays with us
SmartPart does not sell your information, show you advertising, or use tracking services. What we hold depends on whether you are just looking around or have an account, so this page takes the two in turn.

Just browsing
You can look around, configure products, fill a cart and write to us without an account and without telling us who you are. While you do, this is all we hold:
Visit counts
We count how many browsers visit the site each day. The count is a single number; it records nothing about who you are.
Your cart
Your cart is kept in your own browser, not on our servers. We see what is in it only if you sign in and place an order.
Messages you send us
Your name, email address and message from the contact form, used to reply to you. We also keep the IP address and browser the message came from, to stop the form being flooded with spam. If you are signed in when you write, the message is also linked to your account. We keep messages for as long as we need them to help you.
Who else sees it
No one outside SmartPart and our hosting provider. Browsing loads no analytics, advertising or social-media services; the only outside service the site uses, Google Maps, appears on the delivery step of checkout, which needs an account.
Cookies
The site sets only the cookies below, all of them our own, and they are the same whether or not you have an account. None of them follows you to other websites or is shared with anyone, which is why there is no cookie banner to accept.

With an account
You need an account to place an order or review a product. Creating one, and using it, adds the following:
Your account
Your email address, name and country, and your password, which we store only in scrambled (hashed) form. We also note when you last signed in and from which IP address, to help spot someone else using your account. If you turn on two-step sign-in, we also keep its secret key, encrypted, and your recovery codes, scrambled (hashed) like your password.
Your orders
What you ordered, and your delivery details: name, company, VAT number, phone, email, address and any delivery note. We need these to process your order.
Payments
Payments are disabled for the general public as this site only allows experiencing some of SmartPart's features.
Reviews
If you review a product, the review, your rating and the name you review under are shown on the product page.
Order history
When an order changes, we record who changed it and the IP address and browser the change came from, so every order has a history we can trust.
Who else sees it
Beyond the services listed further down, only what each of these needs to do its job:
- Google Maps, which shows the map and suggests addresses on the delivery step of checkout. Google receives what you type into the address search, and your IP address, under its own privacy policy.
- The partners who make or deliver your order, who receive the details they need for that job.
How long we keep it
- Orders and invoices: five years.
- Your account: until you ask us to delete it.
Either way
Whether you are browsing or have an account, information can also reach:
- Our hosting, database and email providers, who store and send information for us and may not use it for anything else. Some of them may store data across several geographical locations.
- Anyone the law requires us to disclose it to.
We never sell or rent your information, and we never share it for advertising.
Your rights
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to how we use it. Email info@smartpart.co and we will reply.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the data protection authority in your country.
